SarkArt
Showcasing our inspirational Isle

The newest attraction on Sark, SarkArt is a gallery displaying our unique art heritage and showcasing and selling works by contemporary artists living and working here and in the Channel islands. Sark is arguably the jewel of the Channel Islands, just off the coast of France but part of the British Isles. With its unspoilt beauty and natural light it has long been the perfect destination for artists, such as JMW Turner, Victor Hugo, William Topliss and the Sark Art Group of the 1930's (Mervyn Peake and his wife Maeve Gilmore, Ethel Cheeswright, Arthur Bradbury, the Waller family and more). Until recently, there has been nowhere to display this unique heritage, nor to showcase artists currently living and working on the island. After setting up as a non-profit community organisation in late 2024, a derelict building has been transformed into a vibrant spacious environment, not just a gallery, but a place for courses and education, residencies and inspiration, complete with a large Arts Activities Area, Sculpture Garden and art supplies shop. After opening in June 2025, it has rapidly become a major attraction in Sark's only main street. This website gives a glimpse of what we do and, as it grows, will offer artworks for sale for those who are not able to visit our beautiful island, but who love the scenes artists produce.

We are very grateful for generous grant support from Guernsey Social Investment Fund, Skipton Community Fund and the granting of a beneficial lease by Sark Estate Management
